Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By installing the Lumen Chrome extension or creating an account at uselumen.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of service

Lumen is a Chrome extension that integrates AI chat capabilities into Chrome DevTools. It provides access to AI language models (Gemini, GPT-4o) via a credit-based subscription. We act as an API proxy — we do not own or operate the underlying AI models.

3. Accounts

• You must provide a valid email address and be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• One account is limited to one registered device. You may reset your device once per support request.
• You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• You may not share, sell, or transfer your account or activation code.

4. Credits and billing

• All plans are billed monthly in advance via Stripe.
• Credits are consumed per AI request. The cost per request depends on the model selected (2–10 credits).
• Unused credits roll over month-to-month, capped at 3× your monthly allocation.
• One-time credit packs do not expire.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers.

5. Cancellation and refunds

• You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account profile. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
• We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for first-time purchases. Contact support@uselumen.com within 7 days of your first charge.
• Credits consumed prior to cancellation are non-refundable beyond the 7-day window.
• One-time credit packs are non-refundable.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use Lumen to:

• Generate content that is illegal, harmful, deceptive, or violates any law
• Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or abuse the underlying AI model APIs
• Automate or script requests to circumvent rate limits
• Resell or sublicense access to third parties
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data or our systems

7. AI-generated content

Lumen provides access to third-party AI models. We do not guarantee the accuracy, safety, or fitness for any purpose of AI-generated responses. You are solely responsible for reviewing and testing any code or advice before using it in production. Never run untrusted code in a live production environment.

8. Availability and SLA

We target 99% uptime but provide no formal SLA. AI model availability depends on third-party providers (Google, OpenAI) outside our control. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned maintenance.

9. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of any content you input. You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to deliver the service. We retain all rights to the Lumen extension, website, and infrastructure.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lumen AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our discretion, with or without notice. Upon termination, your access ends immediately. You may request a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of your current billing period.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. Disputes shall be resolved in Czech courts.

13. Changes

We will provide at least 14 days notice before material changes take effect, by email or banner on the website. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
